Battles

The MeatHead clan is not afraid to take on a
challenge from any clan - especially if the main
aim of the match is to have a good time and to
make friends. We are great believers of the
'Shoot First - Drink Later' philosophy. If you
are interested in having a serious or social
scrim/battle with the MeatHeads, drop us a line

GameArena 5 vs 5 COD4 Ladder
|
|
|
This is the ladder that the MeatHeads have been a stable participant in since its inception in Feb 2008.
Although we were quite competitive in this ladder, the first season, and the last were marred by many defaults caused by a lack of players on the night.
Season 1 ended badly with only a 4/1/11 (win/draw/loss). The second season was much better attended and showed by the improved 7/0/8 results - still 3 of those losses were forfeits.
Unfortunately the third season (2008/2009) started with a loss and then
in late March, due to an inability to
consistently field a full squad, we were forfeited out of the ladder. We are all still keen COD4 players,
but it would seem that for now, GameArena COD4 ladders are not where we will be
found.

GameArena 5 vs 5 COD2 Ladder
|
|
|
This is the event that most of us have been
waiting for quite a while now - even thought it
will be Search & Destroy - Lets get out there
and show the rest of the teams how the MeatHead
clan plays! And who knows, we might even win a
few games!. This ladder is fielding a whopping
72 teams (47 eligible to compete so far at the
end of Jan 2006) so it looks like strategy in
challenges is going to play an even bigger part
than the CoDUO ladder did last year (it has only
49 teams). Although the astute among you will of
course point out that there will be less actual
players allowed on the paddock in the COD2
ladder than in CoDUO ladder....it still *sounds*
like a lot of teams, and I bet that's why they
did it - smart-arse! |

GameArena 6 vs 6 CoDUO Ladder
|
|
|
After a dubious start, the MeatHeads finished
their first season in the
Game Arena 8
vs. 8 CoDUO Ladder pretty much the same way
they started (with a loss) but with heads held
high. We learned a lot about playing as a team
and how to play on high latency Australian
servers. We all look forward to our second
season and hope that some of the lessons we
learned can be put into practice. Although the
final ranking of #33 (out of a field of 41
teams) does not look that flash, we did manage
to break into the top 20 - we were placed as
high as #17 before we lost a few battles to
teams who were on their way up... |

Sept 25, 2005 (6 vs 6)
A very closely played game in the first half. After HnR scored the first
capture, fighting broke out all over the map with neither side gaining
any real advantage over the other. Each team managed to get their hands on the
flag several times only to be cut down by the scrambling defense. The first
half ended with HnR scoring the only capture.
The second round started with an all out assault by HnR thru the graveyard.
It was met with stiff resistance but they overcame it only to be cut down mg
fire before they could get the hands on MeatHeads flag. After that, the HnR boys
played hard, but with no where near the same intensity as the first 5 minutes,
or indeed the whole of the first half. Again and again the MeatHead boys were
able to steal the flag unopposed and make off with relatively little resistance.
Surprised us all really, and the final score of the match was 8 - 2. Well done
MeatHeads.

Sept 16, 2005 (5 vs 5)
A great game was played by all - pity we didn't play like
this during our GA matches, but in all fairness to the
Honour guys, this was (apparently) their first major scrim
battle.
