Posted by: Bugsplat Sat Jan 17, 2009 5:05 pm
In an effort to placate the PC players of Call of Duty®: World at War™ who are still waiting for some serious bug fixes and are confused as to why the console players don't have to wait for their hotfixes and patches, Treyarch have posted a message on their community forums explaining the patching process and where they are at with patch 1.2 for the PC.

Call of Duty®: World at War™ patch released!
Posted by: Sniffer Tue Nov 11, 2008 8:57 pm
Although Call of Duty®: World at War™ is not scheduled to be released in the USA until the 11th November 2008 (14th November for the rest of the world) the first patch has already been released. The patch mainly contains updates for the multiplayer aspect of the game which must have been the result of the Multiplayer Beta. It would seem that Treyarch had no intention of including these updates in the game before it went gold, and rather decided that they would have more time to fix issues if they released a stand alone patch.

The first game trailer for the next instalment of Activision's hugely successful Call of Duty™ franchise has been release by the developers Treyarch (the folk who brought Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and Call of Duty 3 to the consoles). The official name for Call Of Duty 5 is Call of Duty: World at War and this installment takes us back to WWII, specifically the Pacific Theatre of conflict. This demo shows US Marines entangling with Imperial Japanese troops in a palm tree covered sandy pacific island. Maybe the next demo will show some of the rumored Russian push on Berlin...

COD5 Officially announced
Posted by: KillBill Thu Jun 19, 2008 1:26 pm
Well it's official. Call of Duty 5 will go back to its WWII roots after the franchises successful foray into the modern combat genre. The release date has been set for December 2008. However, no information regarding the game engine has been given. So this may just be a WWII version of COD4: Modern Combat. Only time will tell. As far as theater of combat goes, the Pacific would be a good bet, not many palm trees in France/Germany/Russia!

Posted by: KillBill Tue Jun 03, 2008 12:14 am
After all the noise that was made by the PC Gaming community in April over the decision by Infinity Ward to release new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare™ maps for consoles only, it appears that someone at Infinity Ward finally got the hint. Well, more like NVidia lent thier cash and leveraged thier good name to score some excellent PR. Infinity Ward have announced, that together with the generous help from NVidia, a Variety Map Pack and a sixth patch (that will add support for the new maps, fix a server crash exploit recently reported by the community, and a few new features & bug fixes) for the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare™.

Americas Army: SF (Overmatch) v2.8.3 released!
Posted by: bugsplat Fri Feb 01, 2008 7:04 pm
This latest release of the popular Americas Army: Special Forces (Overmatch) is a result of the feedback posted by the AA online community. Many adjustments have been made to increase system and game play performance for faster load times. One of the better fixes in this release is the decreased size of the installer making download times much shorter. Another great addition is the new 'AA Loader' which provides version checking software that lets you know whether your version needs to be updated. It will be nice knowing this before you try to connect to your favourite servers!

Assassin’s Creed: PC Hardware Requirements uncovered
Posted by: bugsplat Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:17 pm
Earlier this week Sionyboy at YouGamers uncovered the PC hardware requirements for Ubisoft's upcoming release of Assassins Creed. Not from the usual press release, but hidden in the forums section of the official website. It seems that Ubisoft was keeping quiet on the specs (or they cannot make thier mind up) which some commentators say indicates that Ubisoft has done little to optimise the game for the PC, but rather just do enough to port the game. (Assassins Creed was released November 2007 on the gaming consoles XBox360 and PlayStation3). Unfortunately, Ubisoft has done this badly in the past.

CoDUO Player Availability Review - FEB 2006
Posted by: bugsplat Wed Feb 15, 2006 10:29 pm
The new competition year for the GameArena CoDUO Ladder is due to get underway in the next couple of weeks and it is probably a very good time to gauge the clans desire to participate in this ladder, and what nights players are available for. Recent freeplay matches would suggest that either the enthusiasm for playing of ladder matches, or even CoDUO in general may be fading....a very sad prospect indeed. Although we may see the current format change for the new season to 6vs6 at present it is still 8vs8 and we have been struggling to make the numbers in the last few weeks.  Could all clan members go to and participate in the COD:UO PLAYER AVAILABILITY REVIEW - FEB 2006.

The fact that I have not heard any suggestions from anybody must be an indication that no-one even knows this site exists rather than the possibility that it is difficult for those without any skill in this area to make a suggestion that is well thought out in both its method of delivery as well as its witty content.
